Product Description

The Respiratory Exerciser is designed for independent and controlled respiratory exercises, particularly for bedridden patients. Superficial respiration can lead to inadequate ventilation in the deeper lung areas, causing mucus accumulation and increasing the risk of infection. This device helps patients recovering from chest lung disease, surgery, anesthesia, or mechanical ventilation to restore lung function.

How to Use?

1
Hold the unit in an upright position.
2
Exhale normally, then place your lips tightly around the mouthpiece at the end of the tubing.
3
Low Flow Rate: Inhale at a rate to raise only the ball in the first chamber. The second ball must stay in place. Hold for 3 seconds or as long as possible.
4
High Flow Rate: Inhale to raise the first and second chamber balls. Ensure the third chamber ball remains at rest.
5
Take out the mouthpiece and exhale normally. Relax and repeat according to clinical instructions.
Inspiratory Volume Calculation

To calculate your volume: Inspiratory Time (sec) × Inspiratory Flow Setting (cc/sec) = Inspiratory Volume.

Example: If you inhale at a flow setting of 200cc/sec for 5 seconds:
5 sec × 200cc/sec = 1000cc (1 Liter)

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the main function of the 3-ball breathing exerciser?
It is used to carry out controlled respiratory exercises to help patients recover lung function after surgery or illness, preventing mucus accumulation and potential lung infections.
How do I avoid hyperventilation during exercise?
Allow at least one minute of rest between inspiratory maneuvers. Follow your physician's instructions carefully and take deep breaths slowly.
What do the three balls represent?
The balls represent different flow rates: 600cc, 900cc, and 1200cc per second. Raising different balls allows you to monitor and gradually increase your inspiratory capacity.
Is the device sterile?
Yes, the device undergoes Ethylene Oxide (EO) sterilization to ensure safety and hygiene for medical use.
Can the flow rate be adjusted?
Yes, as your condition improves, you can aim to lift more balls (higher flow rates) to achieve greater lung volumes following clinical advice.
What materials are used in this breathing trainer?
The device is made from high-quality medical-grade materials: Polystyrene (PS) for the body, Polypropylene (PP) for the balls and mouthpiece, and Polyethylene (PE) for the tubing.
